Sophie Hannah and Paul Perry in the dock


Dublin-based author Paul Perry and Manchester-born Sophie Hannah are both poets and crime fiction writers. For Poetry Day Ireland 2015 on 7 May at 7pm they will be giving readings in the atmospheric setting of Green Street Courthouse in Dublin.

Karen Perry is the pseudonym of Dublin-based authors Paul Perry and Karen Gillece. Their first book together was the suspense thriller The Boy That Never Was (2014), also published as The Innocent Sleep.

Karen Perry novel 'Girl Unknown' for TV


Tiger Aspect, the people behind BBC gangster saga Peaky Blinders, are planning a TV series based on the "Karen Perry" novel Girl Unknown, the psychological thriller by writing duo Paul Perry and Karen Gillece.

Meanwhile the Irish Times reports that the Dublin-based duo are also working with Irish film company Subotica on the adaptation of their first novel together, The Boy That Never Was.

Top Irish crime writers for Dawson Street


The Hodges Figgis Book Festival in Dublin includes a crime fiction discussion chaired by John Connolly in the Dawson Street bookshop this Thursday, 17 September at 6.30pm.

The stellar panel includes Alex Barclay, Jane CaseySinéad CrowleyLiz Nugent and "Karen Perry" writing duo Karen Gillece and Paul Perry. And the event is free - no booking required.

John Connolly on crime fiction

Best-selling author John Connolly will also be discussing crime fiction at the Hodges Figgis Book Festival this evening with authors Alex Barclay, Jane Casey, Sinéad Crowley, Liz Nugent, and writing duo Karen Gillece and Paul Perry.

Admission is free, but if you can't make it here's a recent clip of Connolly on Seán O'Rourke's radio show chatting about crime fiction, his Charlie Parker series and the strange case of the Dublin hydrangeas.
