Stuart Neville pens 'Haylen Beck' thriller

Award-winning writer Stuart Neville upcoming thriller Here and Gone will be published under the pseudonym Haylen Beck.

Translation rights have already been sold for at least 10 countries, and the movie rights have been optioned by the production company Random House Films.

Audra is fleeing from her abusive husband and is headed for California for a fresh start with her two children, taking the back roads to avoid attention. When a local sheriff pulls her over in the middle of the Arizona desert, he finds a bag of drugs in the back of the car.

While Audra is arrested her children suddenly go missing, and she is forced to fight not only to clear her name but also to find her children.

Here and Gone is published on 20 June 2017 by Crown Books (North America) and 6 July 2017 by Harvill Secker (UK and Commonwealth).

For the film version, James Schamus has been lined up to co-produce through his company Symbolic Exchange. His impressive writing credits include Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Ice Storm and more recently The King’s Daughter.

A second standalone Haylen Beck novel is due in 2018. Neville told The Bookseller last autumn: "Writing as Haylen Beck has allowed me to tell a different kind of story inspired by m" travels in America. Here and Gone is the type of high-concept flat-out thriller that I've always loved to read, and I hope others will enjoy it too.
